We’re getting so close to spring now. It’s time to look in the mirror and take a really good look at your face. Winter can leave your complexion rough and dull. So what is the solution? A wonderful exfoliating facial scrub! We’re going to utilize simple ingredients that are in your kitchen cupboards: sugar and vegetable oils to start. To obtain more benefits, essential oils and some other easy ingredients can be added.

Sugar is usually regarded as something we don’t need in excess. However, when we make a facial scrub, sugar is a very necessary ingredient. It is a great exfoliant, helping to scrub away old skin cells and reveal newer, healthier cells. It also draws moisture into the skin and is a form of alpha hydroxy acid, which ensures cell renewal as well.

You can actually find your creative side when you make a unique scrub. You have a wonderful choice of ingredients to use and each scrub can be as complex as you want. They are very easy to make and quite inexpensive. To obtain a great, healthy glow, do a weekly facial scrub.

Sugar Scrub Spa Treatment

This recipe smells good enough to eat!

Soothing Chamomile Oat Sugar Scrub

This is a soothing mixture when your face needs a little extra tender loving care. Oats soften skin and chamomile is known for its calming properties.

Ingredients:

• ½ cup brown sugar
• ¼ cup olive oil
• 3 TBSP ground rolled oats
• 4 TBSP strongly brewed chamomile tea

Simply mix the brown sugar with the olive oil. Add this to the rolled oats and stir. Next mix together with the chamomile tea. Apply this mixture to your face, then leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing. Sugar is great for your skin because it is a natural humectant. Humectants help to pull moisture into your skin and help to keep it there.

Spa Sugar Scrub

Geranium Clean Pore Scrub

Combine 1/2 cup brown sugar with 1/4 cup grapeseed oil and a few drops of essential oil of geranium. Apply to the face and massage in circular motions for 1 minute. Rinse well with water.

Geranium essential oil is known to help prevent acne breakouts, and it assists in regulating oil production. Grapeseed oil is a non-clogging oil, and actually works in an opposite manner, helping unclog skin pores. The brown sugar gently scrubs away dead and oil-filled skin cells in order to reveal the healthier skin cells underneath.

Tomato Sugar Face Scrub

Ingredients:

• 1 tomato
• 1 TBSP granulated sugar

Cut the tomato in half and dip it into the sugar. Next, rub your face with the tomato in a circular motion. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then rinse.

Here is why it works: Tomatoes contain lycopene which is an antioxidant. It helps to protect your skin from UV rays and also prevents wrinkles by maintaining your skin’s elasticity.

Remember this: Commercial facial scrubs can be expensive and filled with chemicals and all sorts of additives. Why buy sugar scrubs, when you can easily whip them up them at home. You will ensure that the unique needs of your skin are addressed. Try these homemade sugar scrubs for a face with a youthful and healthy glow.
