Powerfully antiseptic, clary sage is said to have been historically used to prevent tetanus in open wounds, as well as in the prevention of sepsis which is a contamination of the blood.
Loss of libido in both males and females, impotence, and irregular menstrual cycles are all said to be treatable with clary sage which is a known aphrodisiac and hormone regulator. Possibly related to hormone function is this herb’s ability to reduce the amount of sebum secreted when used in skin care applications.
