You’ve Got to Try a Seaweed Wrap!

By June 20, 2018 No Comments

Seaweed has remarkable qualities that benefit the body. It softens, re-mineralizes, moisturizes and firms your up skin! The application of seaweed is also very important in detoxifying your body tissues and helping to regulate blood circulation. How does it do this? Seaweed supplies several skin health needs:

• improves skin colour and its tone
• helps reduce the effects of aging
• quenches free radicals with the antioxidant beta-carotene

Now let’s turn back the clock on your skin with a DIY seaweed body treatment! Here is what you will need:

DIY Seaweed Body Treatment

• 4 oz French Pink Clay
• 4 oz powdered kelp
• 2 oz spirulina powder
• 1 tablespoon castor oil or olive oil.
• 2-3 tablespoons of distilled water
• 20 drops of your favourite essential oil
• Store this mixture in an airtight jar

Mix 3 oz of this blend with enough hot water to form a paste. Next, rub this mixture over your whole body. Wrap yourself in a warm sheet for about 20 minutes. This is when you will realize the therapeutic qualities of this mild clay. Toxins are successfully drawn out of the skin, without drying it out. In addition, your skin becomes plumper, very soft and refreshed. If you use this body mask consistently, you’ll find that your pores are minimized.

The final step is to wash off your seaweed mask in the shower.

Want to rev up your circulation while you do this? Do a hydrotherapy treatment. Use a vigorous spray from the shower head and alternate the temperature from quite hot to cold in 10-second bursts! Repeat this 10 times. Focus on your hip and thigh area for added benefits. Finish up this DIY spa treatment with warm water.

Why is this seaweed body mask effective? According to www.livestrong.com: “Iodine normalizes the production of subcutaneous fat, makes skin smooth and silky, drying out acne rashes and pimples. Vitamin C contained in seaweed in huge quantities is known for its rejuvenating properties. This antioxidant copes with premature skin aging and combats wrinkles.”
